The Entrada Institute held its 7th Annual Cowboy Poetry & Music Gathering, Saturday, March 8th, in Torrey, Utah. This is the second year Entrada has included a poetry contest from students at the local high school.
Wayne High School had thirty-three entries in the contest this year. Winners were all juniors and all young women. Caitlin Johnson placed first, and the two runners-up were Morgan Torgerson and Krista Durfey.
The winner’s were announced in school and invited to attend the Annual Cowboy Poetry & Music Gathering as guests of Entrada. The first place winner received $100.00 and the runners-up each received $50.00. Caitlin Johnson was present and read her poem as part of the evening’s entertainment. Poet, Ray Conrad, read the poems from the runners-up.
