Southern Utah is probably best known for its iconic red rock deserts. But an often-overlooked aspect of Utah’s stunning landscapes is the Tectonic-overprint that has been responsible for the landscape we admire. Forces that have altered and added to the landscape.

Uplift of the Colorado Plateau made the great canyons and massive amount of erosion possible. For millions of years the Colorado Plateau has been a depositional environment, ranging from quiet warm seas to raging desert with incredibly large sand dunes.
