About Entrada
The Entrada Institute is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the natural, historical, and cultural heritage of the Colorado Plateau. The Entrada Institute is headquartered in Torrey, Utah, the gateway to Capitol Reef National Park. A 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization, the Entrada Institute hosts events that include lectures and concerts, sponsors scientific studies and creative work, and extends scholarships to local students. The Capitol Reefers, a four-member acoustic string band, will be playing at Robber's Roost this Saturday night, August 1, at 7:00 p.m. All Wayne County residents who love this land, their songs are inspired by the ground they inhabit. As they say, "Their music is colored by the red sand that got between their toes and seeped into their pores." The Capitol Reefers will entertain you with their unique interpretations of an eclectic collection of Americana songs.

The John Flanders Trio will be playing some of Flanders' jazz originals, as well as covers like James Taylor and the Beatles, next SUNDAY night, August 9, at 7:00 p.m. John is a highly acclaimed saxophone/woodwind player who will be joined by Marty Morrison on guitar and vocals and Drew Fink on guitar, mandolin, and vocals. This is a performance that you won't want to miss.

Three student artists, participating in the V. Douglas Snow Collegiate Arts Mentorship Program August 4–9, will be showing and discussing their work next Saturday, August 8. This year's mentor, professional artist Jana Parkin, and the students will be interviewed by Entrada Board member Mary McConnell. This event will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday night at Robber's Roost, 200 West and Main Street, in Torrey.
