Heath Ogden, author of The Insects of Capitol Reef: A Field Guide, will share his knowledge of insects and then lead a hands-on watercolor workshop.

Joel Long will be reading from his collection of essays, Watershed. The essays focus on the beauty, fragility, and changing landscape of the Great Salt Lake. His presentation will focus on his essay about Spiral Jetty and the tar seeps there—an essay about time, compression, mortality, and dogs.

nnie Bloom will be discussing her memoir, Buffalo Dreamer.

Each chapter in Buffalo Dreamer weaves us through Annie's life and tells a story of her 12 wilderness vigils. The memoir explores her life through deep Earth ceremony: by curling up to the other-than-human world, by playing the musical instrument of our being, and by letting ourselves make beauty from our grief. Annie never says, "Do this"; instead, she reveals a great expanse of possibility where everything can deeply matter and sacred wisdom is available to each of us.

Her album, King Tide, was released last October; and she will be playing songs from that album and from an upcoming album, Emerald City, that will be released in the fall.

Stephen Trimble began his writing and photography career as a park ranger, including a season at Capitol Reef National Park. Michael has a stellar legal career as a litigator, a law professor, and Chief Justice of the Utah Supreme Court. He remains fascinated with the appellate process.
