In 1915, George C. Fraser, a 43-year-old attorney, and his 18-year-old son, George Jr., traveled 2,000 miles by rail from Morristown, New Jersey, to Salina, Utah, to explore southern Utah. Led by Kanab guide Dave Rust, they spent a month experiencing the area on horseback.
